Lessons learned

Bright light is okay as long as it is late evening sun. Notice eyes are not so squinty, so that was fixed from yesterdays squinty photo. However the shadow are terrible I should of had Jacob turn his chin more towards the sun and slightly tilted his head. Also where their arms are around each other, Jackets should have been undone.
I think I needed to turn my camera vertical on this one. I have a nice shot of BRICK and I should have had a better shot of his suit. After this I also had him button his suit and put his hand in his pocket. Lighting was great, super cute photo. Nice that we have access to photo editing programs... I was also able to lighten the exposure of his eyes, making them not so dark.
Please critique!

Lesson learned

New Assignment! CRITIQUE SOME OF YOUR OWN PHOTOS
Picture number 1
Have all children with feet on the ground... LOOK AT AIDEN
Mix up girl/pink... have Brian hold Charlee
Get clothing that fits! Jack looks like he has a dress on!
Brian needs longer pants
Picture number 2
Again girls/pink are together, need to break up the color.
Move Camera to see all of legs
Maybe space us out a little more, Aiden seems to hide Brian
SIDE NOTE: I have noticed that some of my photo's are out of focus. Not sure why, that is a challenge I give my self. Figure out why when I zoom into the shot(in edit mode), it should still be clear, and as Sooz pointed out on some of the pictures I took of her, they are not!

Texture/patterns

I actually took this photo last year, I thought we could do a pattern/texture assignment. So here you go! What is it? The other funny this is, this is the second time I have blogged about this. I thought I posted this to our family of camera's site and I guess I didn't because I looked today and it wasn't there. Okay any guesses? Thanks Soozy for posting an assignment, does this work for pattern/texture/background???

Fish Taco's

Really not my favorite pictures... I didn't have time to really decide how I wanted to take the picture and I don't think it looks as good as it did on my plate. The fresh mango salsa, cilantro salsa, and the abodo cream were incredible. Coleslaw on the side... it was great!

Pasta!

Super Easy Fusilli dish!

My friend Barbara sent me this recipe she said in her email to me and I quote "AND when you cook it truly al dente, it enters the blood stream slower." She was telling me this because she uses full-grain pasta's. The funny thing is that I feel like a master chef or something because I knew what "to cook al dente" was. :)

She suggested this meal for Jacob as a diabetic, the pasta enters the blood stream at a slower pace when cooked correctly and not over cooked. Not that it matters much with Jacob but it does help with keeping him a steady number, BLAH BLAH BLAH... sorry!

Dinner with kiddo's!

Mini Honey-Mustard meatloaves with Roasted Potatoes... YUMMY! My neighbor gave me these baby white new potatoes from her garden last year. They were so great, I decided to take her a plate. I added my homemade Russian dressing to the salad and took it over. She was very excited!
The boys and I ate the rest... it was really great. Below is what Aiden picked for dinner last night. Burrito Casserole...mmmm okay not my favorite but the boys sure love it. I had left over chicken enchilada's.

Another Home Cooked Meal

Chicken Alfredo Soup....

This is the best soup I have probably ever tasted. Look at the first picture, you can see the steam coming off the top. I think it's cool, but it kind of just makes the picture look blurry. What do you think?

New experiments

I haven't made either of these things before. But they both got a good response in my household.

This was Meatball Soup. Recipe I got out of Jessica Seinfelds cookbook. So kinda healthy. It's suppose to have fresh grated Parmesan Cheese on top. Erik did the shopping so he bought Parmesan Cheese in a can... oops but it still was good.

These were just fun to make. It was a regular cinnamon bun recipe that I made. Just rolled up mini cinnabuns. Cooked some on a cookie sheet and others in mini cupcake cups. Doubled the frosting recipe to cover all the cinnabuns. The one's I cooked on a cookie sheet, once cooled, got a sucker stick inserted to get the appearance of a lollypop when frosted. You can't tell from the pic but there is also fun sugar colored sprinkles on them. Due to the amount this recipe makes, I gave a bunch of these away as Valentine gifts. This would be super fun for kids to help with I would think.

P.S. Don't judge me on the picture I took. The thought accured to me after I had selected all the pretty and perfect one's and handed them out to people already. So my picture is of my rejects :)

Food glorious FOOD!

Have I mentioned that I can't follow a recipe. The twice baked potato's recipe was given to me by Christie and ... nope I didn't follow it. The fruit dip was given to me by my sister in law Julie... and again you guessed it, I didn't follow it. Same for the egg rolls, sweet and sour, and the taco ring. I either add extra things or I don't have everything the recipe calls for, so... I just, kind of, well lets say make due. They all turned out FABULOUS and I will be putting them in the cookbook unless Christie wants to put hers in.
