This Weeks Assignment

Try to make an interesting photo out of something that usually isn't interesting...
(These aren't good examples.
I just wanted something to make the post less boring.)
To put a twist on it... try to take an interesting picture of...
dirty laundry!
Now that's a challenge!

Changes

When it was suggested that we take some pictures already posted and play with them, I thought it was meant to play with your own. I'm glad I was wrong. Sharece took this picture and I just turned it black and white with a pick tint and I love it! But I loved the original even better. The branch is in the middle of the picture, but with the curve of it, there is enough pizazz for me. This little pine bush thing is from a picture that Jenny took. I just cropped everything else out and then made the background fuzzy.
This of course is Jenny's little angel statue. I just loved it so much and I love the face the most so I just zoomed in a little.
This is my boring grass. I just turned it sepia. Didn't help. Still boring.
This is my dog's paw print. I lightened the shadows and then soft focused the print. Helps a little I guess.
And this is my boring tree branch. I highlighted it and then softened the look a little. Still don't like it.
I tried so hard to make my green ditch gunk look interesting. It's impossible. Yuck. :)

Interpretation

Changing things up a bit!Posted by Picasa

Add a pinch of this and a dash of that, and Wahla...

So here are my "new and improved version's" of your photo's. I don't know if they're any better, they're just different. Let me know what you think... And if you don't like them, that is certainly ok!

Suzy's rose is now black... And Jenny's purple flower no longer has that obnoxious shadow in the back!

And here that same flower lost all color.
(I love the center of this flower, btw)
And surprise surprise... I picked the FLOWERS.

My Rejects

Is this a record for the most posts on a single blog in one day? Let's keep it up!

I have so very many that are not that good that it was hard for me to narrow it down to... 10? O dear.

Ok my NOT-SO-GREATS are...

The flowers on this one are beautiful, but I don't like the general picture. Maybe it's because of the branch going across the middle of the picture?

I thought having the pink tree in the background would be really cool to show where this blossom came from... Not the case. I think the background is too much. It drowns out the main subject.

This next one I thought would look really cool because the sun is behind it. Haha, not so much.

What can I say? This whole picture is bad. I'll just say these flowers are a lot prettier from far away!

I thought this could be interesting. A close-up of a nail. I couldn't get the background and angle the way I wanted it. Plus the shadows and stuff aren't that great. (Suz, do you recognize the place?)

I took a lot of these thinking the green tulip leaves would have great leading lines to the little white flowers. I hated all of them.
This could have been cool but I could never focus on the right thing. The dough in the back looks great, but the spoon and chocolate chip are all blurry.

I was trying to focus on the choc chips... Need I say more?
And in this one I don't like the sidewalk or the little vine/twig thing next to the flower. I think it's distracting.

I don't know what it is I don't like about this one. I think it's just everything about it. Yuck.

Ditch Gunk!

Ditch Gunk in a new light! Posted by Picasa
My Challenge for you two is to take one of the posted pictures and change it up! Then re-post it!

Suzy's Not So Greats

These are my boring, what was I thinking, bad light or whatever shots. Any advise will be appreciated. This one is just boring. Dark. Yuck.
This is the fun stuff growing in my ditches out in the field. Not too interesting.
Just a tree. Too close? Boring.
Grass is usually fun, but mine is pretty dead and boring. Not the best light either.
Not a a bad picture, but not my favorite shot. Too much focus on the leather couch it is on instead of the flower.

This is a dog print if you can't tell. Just dull. Hard to see. Shadows too dark.

Wanna BE!

SO, I should be packing but I wanted to post my "this will be a cool picture" wanna b's for you both.
I loved the soft fern feel to this and thought it would be great. I think the light on the leaves is awesome, the dark in the back great, but overall BORING! Here is my beloved ladder with candy wrapper combo!

TOOO Crooked for some reason!

I loved this blossom but in needs to be moved over to the left a hair. I don't like the positioning of the bud/tree.

Last I hate the shadow on the rock, it bugs me. I find myself looking at the shadow more than the flower. Try it, look at the flower your eye is drawn over to the SHADOW, hate that!

From Suzy's Eye

Suzy here! I am so excited for this new experience with my two "sisters"! I think it will really help us bond. Here are a few things that I took pictures of for our close-up assignment. This is a rose from my wonderful husband. There's nothing in bloom up here in Fruitland yet, so this is as close to a flower as I could get.
I believe this is my husband's footprint. All we have up here is mud, mud, mud!
This one is of my baby girl's beautiful blond hair blowing in the breeze. I guess you could say that it "tickles my fancy".
This is my piano, of course. I need to practice. I would love to play it better.
This one is the spring on my trampoline. I had to get creative out here!
That's about all from here. I can't wait until the weather clears and we can get together!

Close Up and Personal...

Well here are a few of mine. And yes, they are all of plants! (Well I guess all but one.) Spring just makes me think of new life and I love all of the green and flowers popping up around me!
Let me know what you think.

And THANKS Jen for setting this up!
